PARTICIPATING ARTISTS (2013)

Sue Lawes Creekery 2

SUE LAWES

Sue designed the Deptford Is Forever tattoos and the project's accompanying publicity and website. She is a contemporary artist and graphic designer who has lived in Deptford for more than 30 years since graduating in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College. Her most recent work has focused on the blue and white ceramic that is commonly found on the Thames foreshore at Deptford and Greenwich, and was most notably realised in her installations in Deptford Creek at Deptford X 2010 and Creekside Open 2011. This focus led to research on the area's history and heritage and her involvement with local campaign group Deptford Is and community project Build The Lenox. She began an MFA at Goldsmiths in 2016.
